Customize Form

Customize Form is a feature that allows you to modify the appearance and behavior of a Form or DocType from the user interface.

It allows you to insert Custom Fields as per your requirement or customize the properties of standard fields.

2. How to Customize a Form

To create a new Customize Form, go to:

Admin > Build > Customize Form

2.1 Options While Customizing a Form

  1. Change Label: You can change the name of a field to fit your industry/language.
  2. Title Field:You can choose a data field to be the title field for viewing lists.
  3. Default Print Format:You can select the default print format for a document type.
  4. Image Field:You can choose an image field to represent a document type.
  5. Max Attachments:You can set the maximum number of attachments for a document type.
  6. Search Fields:You can link a field from another document type to ease selection.
  7. Sort Field:You can set the field to sort records in the document type list.
  8. Sort Order: You can choose whether the sorting is done in ascending or descending order.
  9. Default Email Template:You can set the default email template for a document type.

2.2 More Properties

  • Hide Copy: Prevents users from making copies of a form
  • Is Table: An option only available for table forms in the system
  • Quick Entry:Allows users to create a form quickly by entering basic details
  • Track Changes: Tracks changes made by users to the form
  • Track Views: Provides a history of all views towards the form
  • Allow Auto-RepeatEnables auto-repetition of a form periodically
  • Allow Import:Allows users to import data from files
  • Show Preview Popup:Displays a small popup with mandatory fields of the form on hover of links of the document type in list view and other link fields.

2.3 Customizing the Fields

StrideERP has a standard set of fields for every form. If you need to capture additional information, you can add Custom Fields to the form. You can add, edit, or delete fields as needed. You can also place the fields in the form according to your preference by adding them above or below any existing fields. For more information, go to Custom Fields Page.
